New guidelines for remote work

The purpose of these guidelines is to clarify the rules for and approaches to remote work for employees at the University of Borås. These new guidelines for remote work apply during the period of 2022-01-01 to 2023-02-28, after which the guidelines will then be evaluated.

“These guidelines apply to all employees, both those with and without regulated working hours. The idea is that you as an employee are to have a discussion with your manager about the possibilities for your working remotely in regards to which tasks you can perform remotely as well as your remote work environment. After that, an agreement can be drawn up regarding this using a template,” explained Marie Granberg Klasson, Director of HR.

The scope of permitted remote work is a maximum of two days per week, with a maximum of 40 per cent of working hours. As an employee, you are now welcome to go ahead and initiate a discussion with your manager about the possibility of your working remotely in the new year.

“It is also important to be aware that an agreement on remote work is voluntary, which means that you do not have the right to require certain equipment when you work remotely. You are responsible for ensuring that the remote workplace is formed and furnished for a suitable work environment.”

Until the turn of the year

These new guidelines enter into force on 1 January 2022. Until then, as before, immediate managers must be consulted in advance regarding occasions when an employee may wish to work remotely. This is due to insurance reasons.
