International conference focusing on the governance and organisation of welfare
2024-10-23
"Various areas of welfare are facing several major general challenges where we need in-depth knowledge and new solutions. By bringing together researchers and practitioners from different disciplines and areas of activity for the exchange of experience and dialogue, we want to contribute to continued knowledge development, collaboration, and new perspectives on sustainable governance, organisation and leadership in welfare," said Maria Wolmesjö, Professor of Social Work at the University of Borås.
Who is the conference for?
"The conference is aimed at national and international researchers with an interdisciplinary research approach from different scientific disciplines. It is also aimed at those who lead and work in the welfare sector, as well as those for whom the various activities of the welfare services are intended who want to take part in current research and collaborate on continued knowledge development and research in the field.”
What will happen during the conference?
“We have invited four very interesting keynote speakers who in different ways shed light on contemporary welfare issues linked to leadership and organisation – everything from decision-makers' handling of scientific expertise in, for example, the climate issue to demographic challenges and skills supply. In addition, there will be presentations of current research in the field, as well as a creative workshop for continued collaboration on joint research applications and publications.”
What do you want to achieve with the conference?
“We hope that the conference will lead to cross-border knowledge dissemination, increased networking, co-creation around the identification of new common research questions for collaborative projects and further joint publications.”
The SOLWE 2024 conference is arranged by the research group Work Life and Welfare: Sustainable Governance, Organisation and Leadership in Welfare, SOLWE at the University of Borås. The conference has the theme "A Value-able Work" and is funded by FORTE.
