The bridge Nybron is closed – here’s how to get around

The street Sven Eriksonsgatan is completely closed to vehicular traffic between Nybron and Stationsgatan, and both lanes are also closed at the railway crossing on the street Magasinsgatan. However, one lane will be open at the Yxhammarsgatan/Västerlånggatan intersection, where cars will be able to pass alternately.

Sven Eriksonsgatan will be open for pedestrians and cyclists from Stationsgatan and southwards. From there, you can cross the bridge Söderbro, the bridge at Röda kvarn, and continue on Västerbrogatan past Posttorget to reach Västerlånggatan.

All parking spaces in the area remain open, including along Yxhammarsgatan, at parking lot Elektra, and on Magasinsgatan. The Nybron parking garage will only be accessible via Österlånggatan until the end of 2024. You can reach the parking garage via Allégatan and Torggatan, where two lanes are open instead of one as it is now. After the turn of the year, you will be able to drive to the parking garage via both Österlånggatan and Södra Nybrogatan.

The diversion route for pedestrians and cyclists is the safest to use as it is accessible and maintained during winter. It will be open throughout the entire reconstruction period.
