Exchange student
Each year, the University of Borås welcomes around 200 exchange students from all over the world. An exchange student is a student that is enrolled at a university that has an exchange agreement with the University of Borås and spends 1 or 2 semester here as part of their studies.

How to Apply
Application process
To become an exchange students at the university of Borås, students first need to be nominated by their home university. Nominated students will receive an email with information about how to apply and a link to our application system TransIT.
If you have been nominated by your home university but have not received an email from the university of Borås with application information 2 weeks before the application deadline, it is extremely important that you contact your home university coordinator.
All documents uploaded in your application must be issued in English.

Please respect the application deadlines. If we receive your application after 1 May/1 November, you may only be granted admission if there are study spots available and you meet the entry requirements.
Admission
All admitted exchange students will receive an admission letter sent from our application system TransIT in late May or late November. All admitted students will receive practical information that facilitates the preparations for the exchange semester in Borås.
Erasmus+ students that need a Learning Agreements can only submit the Learning Agreement once the admission process has been completed. The letter of admission contains information regarding the responsible person, contact information and other information relevant for the learning agreement. If possible, send an Online Learning Agreement rather than a document in pdf or word.

Transcript of Records
The Transcript of Records should list courses you have completed within your study programme. It is possible to include courses that are currently being taken. Students enrolled in a master program should include the courses from their bachelor programme.
English Proficiency
All exchange students are required to demonstrate English language proficiency equivalent of B2 (CEFR) in their application. English language proficiency can be demonstrated by a language of instruction certificate from the home university, upper secondary school diplomas that meet the English requirement for Bachelor studies in Sweden, information available at universityadmission.se or with a standardised language test.
IELTS: An overall mark of 6.5 and no section below 5.5
TOEFL (paper based): A score of 4.5 in a written test and a total score of 575
TOEFL (internet based): A score of 20 in a written test and a total score of 90
TOEIC: An overall mark of 775
Course catalogue
The University of Borås offers courses to exchange students at the Bachelor's as well as Master's level. The course catalogue is divided by subject area, students are recommended to pick courses from one subject area as schedules are not coordinated between different subjects. Some courses are available in more than one subject area.
