Scholarships
Scholarships from the University of Borås
The scholarships offered by the University of Borås are intended to cover the tuition fee by approximately 75 percent, they are not designed to cover living costs. The payment is not made in monetary terms; instead the tuition fee will be reduced by the amount of the tuition fee waiver.
The University’s criteria in awarding scholarships are good study records as well as qualifications that the University assesses to be in line with the University’s prioritised educational or research areas.

Application
The application for scholarships for 2025 opens 1 December 2024 and closes 3 February 2025.
Students who are granted a scholarship will be notified shortly after the selection result is published in March 2025.

Scholarships for current students at the University of Borås
For students already enrolled in a two year lasting programme at University of Borås, there is a possibility to apply for a scholarship which covers up to 75 percent of the tuition fees for the remaining two semesters of the programme.
The application for scholarships for year two autumn 2025 opens in March 2025.
Information and application form will be available on the website during spring semester 2025.
Scholarships from the Swedish Institute
The Swedish Institute (SI) offers fully funded scholarships to master’s programmes in Sweden. These scholarships offer a unique opportunity to develop professionally, academically and build long-lasting relations with Sweden and other global professionals.
Pioneering Women in STEM
A fully funded scholarship aiming to empower women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics by enhancing their participation, leadership and performance.
The SI Scholarship Pioneering Women in STEM is an academic scholarship provided for full-time, one- or two-year, master’s studies in designated programmes in Sweden. The scholarship is open to female citizens from the eligible countries and applies to designated master’s programs starting in the autumn semester.
Eligibility is limited to female citizens from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Thailand and Vietnam.
When you have applied for one of the designated master’s programmes for Pioneering Women in STEM and meet all other criteria, you are automatically considered for the scholarship.
The University will nominate students who meet all the criteria set by the SI and who have chosen the University of Borås as their first priority. The selection will be made based on Cumulative Grade Point Average.
