Understanding of the textile industry is crucial to Célia
Why did you choose to study at the University of Borås?
“I knew I wanted to study Textile Management. In my university in France, we had the opportunity to choose to study abroad because of the university’s different partnerships. The University of Borås was one of them.”
What is it like being a student here?
“Everyone is here to help us if we need anything, and everything is done in a way that makes it easier for us to be successful. I think the way it works here in Sweden is very different from what I have been used to before. That is why I find it challenging, but in a good way! Borås is a really pleasant and small city, close to everything.”
What is your opinion about the Textile Management programme?
“It’s really interesting and precise; we are learning a lot about the different aspects of the textile industry and management. We have some classic lectures, seminars and workshops. I like the variety. The fact that we are understanding how the textile and fashion industry work concretely is crucial.”
Sustainable development is targeted at the university, how is this expressed in your studies?
“In Textile Management we talk about it a lot in different classes, but we also have an entire lecture dedicated to sustainable business models.”
What are your plans for the future?
“Later, I would like to combine my technical and managerial skills in order to become a product manager of luxury products.”
