A step ahead in the public library

The overarching question in this project is how public library staff – including library directors – keep abreast and stay updated with the kind of information that they experience that they need in order to do a good job.

A changing world with extensive and disparate information sources and flows that seem increasingly difficult to overview places great demands on professionals, not least in terms of selection and assessment. What should be consulted, which sources and which flows should be followed, what is needed to know for which tasks, what and who deserve trust, what is useful how and when? These are examples of such information-related questions that are the focus of the study.
