Baltic Neighbourhood Cooperation in Sustainable Workwear Initiatives - Driving Recycled Fiber Excellence in Workwear Textiles

SusWearTex

To minimize the environmental impact of workwear industry, recycling of workwear as well as use of recycled fibers to produce new workwear is needed for a sustainable workwear textile sector. The aim of SusWearTex is to cooperation across Baltic sea region to drive utilization of recycled fibers in the production of workwear textiles through a research-based approach. The project will initiate the first Baltic sea neighborhood cooperation of such kind focusing workwear textiles involving Sweden, Latvia, Estonia and Ukraine.

The SusWearTex project aims to build a network and foster cooperation across the Baltic Sea regions to drive the utilization of recycled fibers in the production of workwear textiles through a holistic, research-driven approach. The project will initiate specific activities focused on stakeholder engagement from the outset, including workshops and seminars, followed by joint research activities exploring the potential of recycled fibers in workwear textiles. In the long term, the project aspires to establish a sustainable regional cooperation framework that not only enhances the potential for broader research initiatives to tackle the technical challenges in use of recycled fibers in workwear textiles.
