The role of logistics in trade's circular business models

This applies not least to consumer and trade-related models that are based on extending the lifespan or increasing the use of a product, for example through second-hand sales, rentals, or repairs. However, the underlying logistics in these flows are challenging and relatively little researched. If Swedish trade is to be able to successfully introduce and scale up profitable circular business models, more knowledge about the logistics behind these models is a crucial piece of the puzzle.

The aim of the project is to explore the current and future role of logistics in various circular business models of retail and trade. In particular, the focus is on the importance of logistics in creating profitability in circular business models. The knowledge that the project provides is intended to primarily support retail and trading companies in their development and scaling up of more efficient, and thus (more) profitable, circular business models.
