Annelie Sundler is Professor of Caring Science. I have worked at the University of Borås since 2015. My research areas are patient-centred and person-centred care, communication, patient interaction, patient safety and good care. I also conduct pedagogical research on teaching and learning in healthcare education. I currently work with several research projects in national and international collaborations. I have used both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
My research has been based in various ways on a patient perspective on care and health, including existential issues in care. I started my research as a clinical nurse and completed my doctorate in 2008 with a thesis on women's experiences of health and their life situation after a myocardial infarction. As a nurse, I have professional experience in cardiac care, emergency medical care, and in the care of heart and lung transplant patients.
