Access to the well equipped environment for studies in textile design, brought Tsae-Yang Yeh to the Swedish School of Textiles for a study exchange.

Banking in Sweden

Due to strict regulation to prevent money laundering it is necessary to have a Swedish personal number in order to open a bank account in Sweden. Requirements for the Swedish Tax Agency to register a new Swedish personal number is a minimum stay of 12 months in Sweden. All exchange students staying for under a year won't therefore be able to obtain neither a Swedish personal number or be able to open a Swedish bank account. We therefore strongly recommend that all students staying with us under 12 months, make bank arrangements from their home bank. If not, you will experience great difficulties in paying for rent, electricity etc. in place.
