Durability and compostability of bio-based thermoset composites

Commercial composites are often made from non-renewable materials and are difficult to recycle. Biocomposites are instead made of renewable materials such as bioplastics and natural fibers. This has been studied very intensively at both companies and universities. The University of Borås has conducted extensive research in this area. Hard plastics have been developed from renewable materials and these have since been reinforced with various renewable fibers such as flax fibers, hemp fibers and cellulose fibers. Tests have shown that these materials have relatively good mechanical properties.

Administrative Process for Projects Funded via the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation: Horizon Europe

The European Commission holds the university responsible for its research applications and awarded projects funded by the framework programme. As there are several different roles from different parts of the university involved in these projects during the application process, project implementation, and reporting and closure, there is a need for an administrative process to clarify the different steps of the application process, and the internal division of responsibilities. This administrative process aims to enable an efficient and professional support process for university staff, and to ensure quality and compliance in the management of research projects funded under the EU Framework Programme for Research.
