Introduction to teaching in higher education (3 hp)

The course provides an overview of teaching in higher education based on current pedagogical and didactic research in the field of higher education. The main purpose of the course is to develop the participants' ability to teach and provide a basis for professional development as a university teacher.

Relevant policies, rules and regulations for Swedish higher education institutions are a basic content of the course. Central concepts and fundamental aspects of teaching in higher education as well as the participants' teaching experiences are focused on. Analysis and reflection about one's own approach to teaching as well as subject/discipline-related knowledge and teaching traditions are included in both the course's teaching and examination.

The course starts in September and comprises a series of lectures/workshops. The language of instruction is English.

The course will meet Wednesdays at 09:00–12:00.
