Group life insurance

As a government employee, you have group life insurance through the National Government Employee Pensions Board. Your life insurance is valid from the day you arrive at the workplace and as long as you are employed. The insurance also applies during holiday leave and illness. If you are first employed at the university after the age of 65, the insurance does not apply.

In addition to life insurance, funeral assistance and post-employment protection are included if you end your employment before the age of 65.

Tell your relatives that you are insured through the National Government Employee Pensions Board (Statens tjänstepensionsverk, SPV).

Compensation in the event of injury

Occupation injury refers to accidents at work, accidents to and from work, and illnesses that are directly related to work.

What compensation does the insurance provide?

Additional costs in the event of an occupational injury that are not reimbursed elsewhere can be paid for, e.g. medical care, dental care, rehabilitation, medicines, the aftereffects of personal injury, special aids, future additional costs, and special inconveniences. The deductible is SEK 100.

When it can be assumed that an employee has suffered an occupational injury, it is the employer's obligation to report the injury and inform the employee about the Agreement on Compensation for Personal Injury.

Occupational injuries are reported by the manager to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.
