Programme Coordinator
The Programme Coordinator is tasked with managing quality assurance work within programmes and, in dialogue with Course Coordinators and other relevant roles, colleagues, and functions, managing and ensuring progression, in-depth subject study, pedagogical and didactic ideas, connections to research, and the integration of various university-wide matters. The role includes ensuring that the objectives of the programme are achieved and that students are given influence over the programme and its development. The Programme Coordinator has an important role in contributing to good decision-making documentation in matters concerning programmes and programme syllabi prior to decisions made by boards, committees, and departments, and to identify the need for skills based on the programme's current and future needs. The role of Programme Coordinator can be relieved and strengthened by the Director of Studies and the Head of Subject.
Course Coordinator
The Course Coordinator is responsible for managing the quality assurance work within a course and ensuring the course's content, implementation, and development through pedagogy, didactics, and course evaluation. The Course Coordinator ensures that the course is planned and carried out in accordance with the course and programme syllabi, within given frameworks. The Course Coordinator's work is done in dialogue with the Programme Coordinator and other relevant colleagues and functions, where the Course Coordinator informs the Programme Coordinator when there is a need for revision of the course syllabus. The Course Coordinator has an important role in contributing to good decision-making documentation in matters concerning the course and course syllabus prior to decisions made by boards, committees, and departments. The role of Course Coordinator can be relieved and strengthened by the Examiner, Director of Studies, and Head of Subject.
Examiner
The Examiner is responsible for examination and determines grades. The Examiner designs, in consultation with the Course Coordinator and in accordance with the course and programme syllabi, examination components, examination assignments, and assessment criteria to ensure high quality. The Examiner ensures that examinations are carried out in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines, etc.
Head of Subject
The Head of Subject has an overall and cohesive responsibility to manage quality assurance work within a subject. The Head of Subject is responsible for following and contributing to the development of the subject, the subject's content in educational programmes, and the skills of the teaching team in the long term. The Head of Subject provides important support to Programme Coordinators, Course Coordinators, and others who work with courses or programmes within the subject.
Director of Studies, Bachelor’s and Master’s levels
The Director of Studies acts as a support for coordinating the work within and between programmes as well as in other education at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. This may involve, for example, planning, implementation, and follow-up, responsibility for evaluations, and handling student matters.
