Metadata
Hidden information
The metadata that you as a user can see in a document is for example:
- Who edited the document
- previous document name and version
- comments, remarks and correction
- text and content that is formatted and hidden
- name on the servers where document has been stored
Clear document
You can get usable metadata by for example see who edited the office-document last.
1. In a Office-application you find plenty of information by pressing "File".
2. Click on "Info".
There's also easy accessible software which can scan and show your an overview on all metadata in the document, not only in a Office document but from almost any type of file.
Remove metadata
1. Click on "File".
2. Click on "Info". Then click on "Check of issues" and "Inspect document".
3. In the dialogue box "Document inspector", make sure all the boxes and checked and then afterwards press on "Inspect".
4. You can now see which elements that contains metadata. Click on "Remove All" to the right of the elements. Afterwards click on "Close".
