To make it possible for a lecturer to connect his or hers computer to the university's network there is in some lecture halls network sockets which have VMPS activated. A socket with VMPS activated will investigate which computer is connected and automatically connect the socket to the right virtual network. This means that you can take your staff computer and connect it to a VMPS socket and have the same access there as in the computers ordinary socket.

The sockets with VMPS activated is marked green and/or have a green network cable connected to it.

This gives that external computers which isn't linked to the university and thereby haven't got their IP address registered in the domain despite that can be connected to a green VMPS socket. External computers will be put in a virtual network protected by a firewall. To get out on the internet through the firewall you need to go to http://10.1.1.1 and log in with a guest account. The guest account is handed out by the reception and/or the servicedesk at Campus and IT services depending on how long the guest is at the university. The computer must be set to have dynamic IP.
