Doctoral studentship is a time-limited employment with the benefits and responsibilities that come with being employed. An employment includes, among other things, paid vacation, occupational injury insurance, parental leave, and pensionable income plus income protection (insofar as you have registered with the unemployment fund, A-kassa, in good time). You are also entitled to sick pay, reimbursement of medicines, and access to occupational health care.
