Licentiate seminar

The number of course credits required for the licentiate degree can vary among the programmes and is stated in your general syllabus. The thesis must also have been presented and reviewed at a public seminar. The outcome of the seminar must be documented in a licentiate protocol signed by the examiner and adjusted by the supervisor.

Registration for licentiate seminar

Notification of a licentiate seminar should be done no later than two months in advance to the Research education committee (FUU)/KFU, which determines the time, place, and chair of the seminar.

Design and printing

A licentiate thesis is designed either as a compilation work consisting of sub-works with a framework (kappa), or alternatively the thesis is designed as a monograph. The kappa must include a summary in Swedish (max. one page). The thesis must also be provided with a title page, corresponding to a  “spikning” (notification of the date of the defence of a thesis) which contains information about the title of the thesis, author, time, and place for the seminar, and an English-language "abstract." The thesis must also be provided with an ISBN identity, which can be obtained from the University Library, before printing.
