Welcome to the course Modelling (course code C3KMD1)! We are very happy to welcome you to an interesting and relevant course at the Swedish School of Library and Information Science. The course deals with how to create different types of models based on specific scenarios in order to support the process of planning, designing and implementing web applications. To this end, the course will apply a visual modelling language called Unified Modelling Language (UML).
The course is running at half-time, starting 2022-08-29 and ending 2022-10-30. The course is mainly offered as a distance course, which means that most of the contact between students and between students and teachers will take place through the learning platform Canvas and the communication tool Zoom. In Canvas, you will find information a few weeks before the start of the course and can get in touch with the course coordinators and other teachers. As the course is mainly offered as a distance course, students are required to take personal responsibility for their studies and work independently. At the same time, we try to create a study environment that invites discussions and intellectual stimulation. We will also provide (non-compulsory) meetings on campus in Borås during which we, among other things, carry out exercises in the computer rooms.
The schedule for the course can be found at this link.
If you want to start preparing for the course work, we suggest that you start by reading the course literature (see the course syllabus).
Finally, we would like to welcome you to the course once again. We, the teachers, look forward to meeting you!
