Research and Education Board (R&D Board)
The Research and Education Board (R&D) has the overall responsibility for promoting research and doctoral education and for ensuring that educational programmes at the Bachelor's, Master's, and doctoral levels rests on a scientific basis.
- R&D meets once a month per term.
- 3 student representatives
The R&D committee has also delegated responsibility to various committees.

Artistic Research and Education Board (KFU)
The board has the overall responsibility to work for high quality in artistic education at the Bachelor's, Master's, and doctoral levels and to work for good conditions regarding quality in artistic research. It is responsible for proposals regarding cases when hiring Professors, Senior Lecturers, and Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the artistic area.
- KFU meets around 4-5 times per term.

Disciplinary Board
The Disciplinary Board consists of the Vice-Chancellor as Chair, a member who is well-versed in the law, and a teacher representative at the university. Students at the university have the right to be represented on the board with two members.
- The Disciplinary Committee meets approximately 10 times a year.
- 2 student representatives
The role of the Disciplinary Board is to handle cases in which a student has, for example:
- cheated during exams or plagiarised academic papers
- interfered with or hindered teaching, tests, etc.
- disrupted the university's activities in various ways
- exposed other students or university employees to harassment of various kinds
Central Health and Safety Committee
At workplaces where at least fifty workers are regularly employed, there is to be a safety committee composed of representatives of the employer and the employees.
- The Central Health and Safety Committee meets approximately 3 times per term.
- 2 student representatives
The Central Health and Safety Committee is to consider the following issues when they are of a general nature:
- Current work environment issues within the university.
- Planning of organisational changes.
- Current issues related to buildings, interior design, and equipment
- Reports and follow-up on of accidents, occupational illnesses, and incidents that have occurred.
- Occupational health care
- Reports on health and work environment surveys and other surveys of the university's work environment.
- Question raised by the Chief Safety Representative, Safety Representatives, or Student Safety Representatives.
The goals and various surveys and reviews form the basis for the action plan that is established.

The purpose of the Collaboration Group/Safety Committee is to be a forum for dialogue between the employer and union representatives where the parties have a joint responsibility to address issues about activities, health, work environment, co-determination, gender equality, diversity, and discrimination. The Collaboration Group deals with issues and decisions concerning its own area of activity.
