Hello and welcome to our new program Textile Production and Innovation!
We are delighted that you have chosen to study with us at the University of Borås, and we look forward to three exciting years together. We, the teachers in the program, look forward to our joint journey that is not only intended to develop your professional skills but also to help you grow as a person.
The program is both theoretical, where you will adopt an academic approach, and practical, where you will apply theoretical knowledge in practical skills. In the first year, you will take courses to gain a scientific foundation alongside basic and program-specific courses within textile technology. Here, you will gain the foundation in textile technology and production so that in the second and third years, you can take the step towards textile innovation, digitalization, sustainability, and specialized knowledge. You will learn more about this when we meet at the introduction on September 4th at 9:00 AM!
During the first few weeks, it is important that you take the opportunity to get to know your classmates, the Swedish School of Textiles, the Student Union in Borås, and the city of Borås. Take the chance to participate in the offered introduction activities to quickly immerse yourself in student life. The time and place for these introduction activities and your lectures can be found through the links further down on this page.
Since the schedule changes from time to time, it is good to check the schedule regularly. If you use an electronic calendar, a good tip is to subscribe to the schedule. That way, you will always have an updated schedule in your electronic calendar. On our learning platform Canvas, you will find information about your courses. There is also a page for your student batch where I post information about various things that are happening or are important to know.
