Didactic methods regarding language and interaction in Swedish special schools (Interteach)

Researchers at the Department for Pre-school and School Teacher Education at the University of Borås are involved in the project. The purpose of the study is to identify what didactic methods that are used within Swedish special schools (and to what extent), in order to promote language and interaction regarding pupils with neuropsychiatric disorders (especially autism). Interteach is a full national investigation, which approaches all teachers that serve within Swedish special schools. Teachers who participate in the project give information about their teaching methods, which are used in order to promote language and interaction in education. The study aims to give a picture of various teaching practices in the participating schools. By extension, the increased knowledge can lead to development of the education. Interteach offers the possibility of cooperation with the surrounding society.
